The Gem in North Shore City!!

Our village is situated on a peninsula surrounded by the Waitemata Harbour, scene of the world's greatest sailing and home of the America's Cup.  It is a great place to relax on holiday or after a hard day’s business.  It has excellent beaches for swimming, many parks, panoramic views from extinct volcanos, a maori / military fort, history, a naval base, an attractive village, shopping, restaurants, a movie theatre, library, art galleries, museums, the historic Esplanade Hotel, homestay, bed and breakfast, motel, houses, gardens, parks, history, a golf course and almost every other sports facility.  You do not need a car as this is a safe, compact and very picturesque place to explore by foot.

 

North Shore City, centred in Takapuna 6 km away, offers a wide range of facilities, experiences and activities.   It boasts beautiful beaches, coastlines, parks, native bush, and other excellent sports facilities.   Shopping malls, markets, an active arts community, superb accommodation choices and a relaxed beachfront café culture makes it a place to enjoy life.

Getting Here

BY CAR:    Take the Northern Motorway over the harbour bridge, then take the third off ramp at Esmond Road, Route 26,  labelled Devonport/Takapuna.  Travel straight ahead to the "T" junction, then turn right at Lake Road and take it all the way to the "T" traffic island at its end.  Turn right, pass the Catholic and Presbyterian churches on the slopes of Mt Victoria on the left and travel down Victoria Road to the village seafront.

FROM AIRPORT:    Take an airport shuttle (approx $40 per couple) direct to your lodgings.   Alternately, take the Airport bus to the Downtown Terminal (every 20 mins) at $12.50 each), cross the road and right 100 metres to the brick Ferry Terminal, take the Devonport Ferry (every half hour) at $4.00 each.

BY FERRY:  Take the Ferry from the Downtown Auckland ferry terminal  (The Brick building directly across from the bottom of Queen Street), which runs every half hour.   Timetable
