Short term homestay accommodation is now available only in slots between longer term visitors sorry
I
am Peter Goldsbury, and I look forward to being your host. My family and friends welcome you to Devonport.
Make our home your base to explore our locality, Auckland and New Zealand.
We
have a spacious colonial home situated close to the village, in by far the
most attractive, historical, artistic, funloving, relaxed, central and generally
classy seaside suburb right in the centre of Auckland City.
Whether you are on holiday or business, why stay in an inner CBD hotel, motel, lodgings or apartment that makes every city feel the same when you can enjoy the ultimate Kiwi experience. Bring your family group, children and friends (or golf clubs) to make a new home. We are just a relaxing ten minute ferry ride to Downtown Auckland.
For families on the move, we offer self contained fully furnished medium term executive accommodation where everything is supplied .
Aniwaniwa is the Maori word for a rainbow or the halo or
ring surrounding heavenly bodies. We want to share that with you.
What we offer?
A
unique Kiwi homestay experience for visitors to the city who want to be guests
in part of our restored and extended NZ kauri villa (1895 vintage). We particularly
welcome families with children or other groups who want somewhere they can
relax and be themselves, using us as a base for business, pleasure or exploration
of our beautiful city, country and to experience nature at its best. Read
what guests have written in our visitors book

What you can do and see
here?
We
are on the slopes of Mount Victoria, which we suggest you climb as soon as
you arrive. It is absolutely the best possible vantage point, and includes
models and maps that will help you quickly get yourself orientated. It is only a 20 minute stroll
to North Head, the head of the Harbour and a magical place to visit. As well
as panoramic views of Auckland and the harbour islands and beaches, it is
an old fort riddled with tunnels (bring a torch), disappearing guns and much
more. North Head is at the end of Cheltenam Beach were you can enjoy sunshine,
sand and sea. Many of our travel weary quests
really enjoy the freedom of relaxing in our private native tree lined garden
and sheltered solar heated swimming pool. It is an ideal base from which to
explore what the region has to offer and beyond. We give you information and
advice on what you can do to make your holiday unique. An eight minute stroll takes you
to the city ferry (see
half hourly timetable) which in another 10 minutes drops you into the
heart of the Downtown CBD; for bus and rail travel connections, or for ferries
to other gulf Islands. Here you will find our university (2), many top
NZ businesses, major hotels, conference venues, shows, nightclubs, apartment
services, shopping, galleries, museums, zoo, and other attractions mainly
within walking distance. If you want to bring you friends
spend a few days playing golf, the beautiful 18 hole Waitemata club course
is only 10 mins stroll away. Green Fees $40 for affiliates. Explore
